Blackpool Sands to Stret and back

Start on a beautiful privately owned beach with great coffees. Sit down for lunch and the best pub food in the area at the mid point. Return to Blackpool Sands for ice cream and a rest! 2 hours walking and some steep parts!

This is a fabulous walk with great views back to Blackpool sands, down into Valley beach and in the distance, to Slapton Sands.

The walk starts at Blackpool Sands. Climbing out of Blackpool valley across the newly built ford, the views back to the beach are spectacular. The clearly marked path then takes you to the top of Valley beach where you will gasp at the steepness of the V shaped valley you have to traverse. Down into the valley and up the other side the views left to Dartmouth and right to Torcross are amazing.

Thw walk continues to Strete where you will find the kings Arms (see our restaurant pages). Lunch and a glass of wine on the terrace overlooking the sea is a perfect place to recharge the batteries before making the return trip.

Back on Blackpool Sands ice creams and teas and the reward for one of the best walks in the area.
