Batham to Buttery Cove and Thurlestone
Bantham has a huge flat, sandy beach with dunes -very famous for surfing, kite flying, boys in wet suits and staring at Burgh Island opposite, finished off with a very child-friendly pub with great fish and huge menu at The Sloop Inn. Easy cliff walk loop for 1? hours.
From The Sloop Inn walk alongside the estuary and towards the sea, across the huge expanse of beach, throw a Frisbee, sunbathe or boogy board. Walk across the beach, past the Lifeguard hut and up the coastal path. Go up the coastal path and then wind down the cliff to Buttery Cove, a beautiful quiet beach and back up the coastal path towards Thurlestone. There are fabulous views but beware of flying golf balls as you come alongside the golf course and then loop back to Bantham. Fall into The Sloop Inn for fabulous home cooked food, fresh crabs and real ales.
