Start Point Lighthouse via Mattescombe to Lannacombe
Stunning views, a rare glimpse at a lighthouse and if you?re lucky a seal and a porpoise all before lunch! Sorry no pub though but a stunning beach so take a BBQ or picnic! Easy walk - 2 miles.
Starting from Start Point car park and walk around the lighthouse and along the coastal path, very narrow in places along awesome coast and turquoise waters past a couple of bays which seals and porpoise love to visit. Clamber down for some rock pooling then onto Mattescombe beach, with flat, white sands and the most perfect BBQ spot! A quick swim and wander in and out of the hidden coves. Climb back up the cliff along coastal path to small surfing beach at Lannacombe for a well-deserved lie down or some body surfing, weather pending or wet suit fitting! When you return, instead of going around the lighthouse, you can climb the path up above Mattescombe beach which takes you straight back to the carpark.
